COVID-19 Update

Devon Physical Therapy is closely monitoring the evolving COVID-19 situation and is adhering to the recommendations outlined by Alberta Health Services, Physiotherapy Alberta College and Association, and the Government of Alberta.

We understand that these are unprecedented times in healthcare and we remain committed to providing the best possible care while ensuring we do everything possible to safeguard the health of our patients, staff and the community at large.

At this time we continue to be open and to treat clients who have an urgent and essential need for Physical Therapy. Examples of urgent need include:

  • Patients with recent strokes or other neurological conditions
  • Patients in motor vehicle accidents or suffering from other acute injuries
  • Patients who recovering from recent surgeries or fractures
  • Patients who are unable to work due to injuries
  • Patients who are struggling with sleeping or completing daily activities
  • Patients who would visit a doctor or emergency room if not treated because of their pain

Patients that are not considered urgent and who may benefit from this alternate treatment option will be offered treatment through telerehabilitation. This treatment tool is a great way for the therapist to continue to work with the patient through their rehabilitation process.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and as per the Chief Medical Officer of Alberta, we are asking our patients who are experiencing a cough, fever, or other flu like symptoms (sore throat, runny nose) or those who have recently traveled outside of Canada to cancel their appointment or not schedule at this time.  It is also recommended that these patients visit www.alberta.ca for more information in regards to COVID-19 and recommended care for their symptoms.
