Free Baseline Concussion Testing for All Devon Minor Hockey Players

Devon Physical Therapy is offering free baseline concussion tests for all Devon Minor Hockey Players. We are hoping to increase concussion awareness in the coaches, athletes and parents.

Baseline concussion testing is done before any suspected event and provides an understanding of how an athletes brain is working and processing information so that it can be used to compare with an suspected post concussion event. This can then be used to help the doctors and therapists develop a treatment that bests suits the athlete and gets them back to activity as quickly and safely as possible.

Along with this program Devon Physical Therapy has also produced a short video that explains the possible signs of a concussion, what to do if one has a concussion and the return to play process.

For the testing we will be using the ImPact Baseline test. It is the same testing that is used be the NHL, Western and Ontario Hockey Leagues as well as the NFL and many other professional and college leagues.
